Galaxy Turf Laid At The Home Depot Center
\"The first piece of LA Galaxy turf was set in the new 27,000-seat soccer stadium at The Home Depot Center today. Doug Hamilton, Vice President/General Manager of the Los Angeles Galaxy, Beth White, General Manager of The Home Depot Center and Ron Kirkpatrick, Director of Sports Turfs and Grounds, were on hand at the stadium for the placement of the first piece of turf being laid on the soccer field. Each piece of sod is a Hybrid Bullseye Bermuda that is over seeded with Perennial Rye and is 400 square feet in size and weighs nearly one ton. The Los Angeles Galaxy will make The Home Depot Center its home stadium and practice facility. The L.A. Galaxy's inaugural home game will be held on June 7 versus the Colorado Rapids. The Galaxy-Rapids match will be the first soccer game ever played in the new soccer stadium at The Home Depot Center, a multi-sport facility located on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills in Carson.\"
