StubHub Center Goes Red February 5 in Support of National Wear Red Day ®
CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016) – StubHub Center will go red this Friday, Feb. 5, in support of National Wear Red Day ®, a nation-wide campaign of the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Go Red for Women. Go Red For Women encourages awareness of the issue of women and heart disease in addition to encouraging action to save more lives.
“We are honored to support the American Heart Association and help raise awareness for such an important cause,” said StubHub Center General Manager Katie Pandolfo. “Cardiovascular disease is a prominent issue that takes the lives on hundreds of thousands of women each year. We look forward to going red this Friday to contribute to the significant efforts of Go Red For Women.”
Throughout the entire day, StubHub Center employees will wear red in support of National Wear Red Day ®. That evening, StubHub Center hosts the U.S. Men’s National Team match vs. Canada at 7:15 p.m. PT which will be broadcast live on FS1, UniMás and UDN.
In 2003, the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI), the AHA, and other organizations committed to women’s health joined together to raise awareness of women and heart disease. The NHLBI introduced the red dress as a national symbol for women and heart disease awareness and the AHA adopted this symbol to create synergy among all organizations committed to fighting this cause.
StubHub Center has previously hosted events to benefit and support the American Heart Association. Last year, StubHub Center hosted HeartChase, new interactive event that raises money to support the life-saving work of the American Heart Association. In addition, the Los Angeles Film and Entertainment Soccer Tournament 2015 (LAFEST), which features a 6v6 tournament between film, entertainment, media and advertising professionals and celebrities, took place at StubHub Center in 2015.
