STUBHUB CENTER TO HOST INAUGURAL LEGENDS CUP BETWEEN USA AND MEXICO
CARSON, Calif. (Monday, April 7, 2014) – The StubHub Center, in conjunction with PRIMETIME Sports, announced today the inaugural 2014 Legends Cup soccer match between United States and Mexico at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. on Sunday, June 1 at 4:00 p.m. PT. The Legends Cup is an annual soccer match featuring iconic soccer stars from renowned rivalries. The 2014 Legends Cup is a clash between the U.S. and Mexico, one of the world’s most heated rivalries and the two major powers of the CONCACAF region.
Tickets for the USA – Mexico Legends Cup start at $20 for adults and are only $10 for kids 12 and under go on-sale today at 2:00 p.m. PT and are available at www.ticketon.com by phone at 1-800-668-6060, www.axs.com and at the StubHub Center box office.
This year’s Legends Cup will feature top players from the 1994, 1998 and through the 2010 FIFA World Cup teams including; Francisco “Paco” Palencia, Luis “El Matador” Hernandez, Alberto Garcia Aspe, Luis Alvez “Zague” and Jorge Campos from Mexico. Representing the United States will be Paul Caligiuri, Eric Wynalda, Brian Ching, and John O’Brien. To be eligible to participate in this match players must be fully retired from professional soccer and have represented their country at least once in a full international match. The last time these two legendary teams met in Southern California was April 2012, when more than 13,000 Southern California soccer fans witnessed the USA win 2-0.
