Carson, Calif. (April 19, 2013) - The Home Depot Center and LA Galaxy will engage fans in a week-long celebration of Earth Day, a nationally recognized day for inspiring environmental awareness and mobilizing individuals to take action. Earth Week at The Home Depot Center will feature three environmental outreach events created to inspire The Home Depot Center and LA Galaxy fans, guests and employees to put sustainable living into action and learn how to get more involved.

• Saturday, April 20th - LA Galaxy vs. Sporting Kansas City Green Game – 7:30 p.m.
Fans will be able to celebrate Earth Day early at the LA Galaxy game by connecting with environmental non-profits like Tree People, inside the Soccer Fest at The Home Depot Center. The Galaxy will honor the winning team of the 2012 Recycle.Goal challenge, a competition sponsored by the Galaxy, Keep California Beautiful and the American Chemistry Council to reward Southern California youth soccer teams for recycling. The Anaheim Impact girls U-13 team won the 2012 competition, collecting more than 3,000 pounds of recyclable materials.

• Monday, April 22nd and Tuesday, April 23rd –Reading Garden Challenge *Employees Only*
For the fifth consecutive year, the LA Galaxy Foundation and The Home Depot Center Charitable Foundation have partnered with The Home Depot to host an environmental education competition that awards an elementary school with a custom-built Reading Garden. The Reading Garden Challenge called for schools and students (grades K-5) to focus on Earth Day as part of their literacy efforts by reading (or being read to) Earth Day-themed books for 30 minutes a day for 30 days and log their minutes. Students from Annalee Avenue Elementary School in Carson logged 54,504 reading minutes during the 30-day challenge to win a new Reading Garden for their school. Materials will be delivered on Monday, April 22nd and the Reading Garden will be built on Tuesday, April 23rd with players and staff from the Galaxy and The Home Depot Center.

• Saturday, April 27th- E-Waste Drive - 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – The Home Depot Center- Parking Lot 11
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, The Home Depot Center Charitable Foundation has partnered with Isidore Electronic Recycling and E-Waste Systems, Inc. to collect E-Waste for free. The drive through E-Waste Collection Drive drop off location will be accessible via Gate B in Lot 11 at The Home Depot Center. For directions to the E-Waste Drive and a list of acceptable items to donate, please visit homedepotcenter.com.
