Thanksgiving meals will be served to 250 local children and families in need along with a Camp for Kids soccer clinic ahead of the dinner
CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014) – The StubHub Center Foundation and LA Galaxy Foundation will host the 11th Annual Thanksgiving Foundations' Feast at StubHub Center’s American Express Stadium Club on Monday, Nov. 24 at 4 p.m. PT. As part of the event, LA Galaxy players as well as staff from both the LA Galaxy, StubHub Center, and StubHub Los Angeles locations will help serve a complete Thanksgiving meal to 250 local children and families in need.
An annual tradition at StubHub Center since 2003, this year’s event will feature the serving of a full Thanksgiving buffet, including turkey, stuffing and all the trimmings. Arts & crafts, activities, and gift bags will also be provided. This year, kids will also have the opportunity to participate in a Camp for Kids soccer clinic before dinner presented by StubHub at 2 p.m. PT at StubHub Center’s Field 5.
The Foundations will host families from Fred Jefferson Memorial Homes, Los Angeles Children and Family Services, Colette’s Children’s Home, The Salvation Army Red Shield, Koinonia Family Services, Children’s Hospital, Challengers Boys & Girls Club, and Compton Parks & Recreation, LAUSD Homeless Education Program, and El Nido Family Services.
This year’s Thanksgiving Foundations’ Feast is made possible by donations from the LA Galaxy, StubHub Center, Coca-Cola, StubHub, McDonald's, Ralph's/Food 4 Less, Polly's Pies, Levy Restaurants, , Starbucks, and Bristol Farms.
The StubHub Center Foundation will also be collecting new unwrapped toys and books for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program during the 11 th Annual Toys for Tots Toy Drive starting Monday, December 8, 2014 through Tuesday, December 16, 2014. The toys will be delivered by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to children in need, ages 2-13, in the city of Carson. All toy donations can be dropped off at the StubHub Center’s main lobby on weekdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. PT.
